The purpose of this analysis is to determine the INTERNAL completeness of the point sources
in the 2MASS Winter 1999-2000 Working Database (TMASSS) and the Catalog Release.
Point sources from the overlapping edges of adjacent survey tiles were used in this analysis.
Tiles were selected based on galactic latitude. A set was selected at 70 degrees GLAT (tiles 12911-12948) and another at 20 degrees GLAT (tiles 6871-6931).
Sources within the overlap region having two apparitions are assigned a 2 out of 2 weight. Sources within the overlapping region having one apparition are assigned a 1 out of 2 weight. Any source falling near the edge of the scan (within 10") would not be included in the analysis. All apparitions were considered a match if they were within a 2" radius.

The following results are completeness plots for TMASSS pt_src database:
Results for 6871-6931 Jm.
6871-6931 Hm.
6871-6931 Km.
Of the 2491 singleton sources left in TMASSS completeness analysis,
1271 had use_src flag set to zero and
did not make it into the final Catalog.
Therefore, another set of completeness
plots were made to reflect the actual sources that are in the final Catalog.
The following results are completeness plots for pt_src_cat database:
Results for 6871-6931 Jm.
6871-6931 Hm.
6871-6931 Km.
NOTE: Some real sources (6 out of 10) where DROPPED between TMASSS and final Catalog due to
the use_src flag being set to zero.
This suggests that the counterpart that was filtered
from TMASSS had the better geometric position from the edge but since it was not
in TMASSS,
the singleton received a use_src = 0 flag setting.
Results for 12911-12948 Jm.
12911-12948 Hm.
12911-12948 Km.
