General Observations

All current algorithms work fairly well in regions without structure. The Stern algorithm currently provides the best overall results. All algorithms have problems in regions of diffuse emission. A better muxbleed algorithm is necessary that will be robust enough to remove muxbleed in regions of extended emission.

Work in Progress

• Flag pixels affected by muxbleed and other artifacts. Link to IDL procedure to add affected pixels to dmask
• Perform better estimation of true background in muxbleed pixels. IDL procedure that performs interpolation of neighboring data is here
• Select best functional form for improved fit routine
• Examine if the current muxbleed subtraction in the pipeline should be turned off
• Develop method of estimating DN seen by a saturated pixel -- estimation of true brightness of saturating sources.
